We are working with a very well established business based in the heart of Hertford whom require a Accounts Team Leader to join their team. The purpose of this role is to keep the property accounts in order and the cash flow under control.
Key duties and responsibilities
Respond to escalated enquiries received by letter, email and by phone within 12 hours- Understand and oversee the invoicing code system and be competent at entering the expenditure invoices into the correct category
- Oversee raising of Service Charge and Ground Rent invoices in a timely manner to ensure they are issued in accordance with the lease
- Accurately enter BACS, cheque and card payments onto QuickBooks and pay via electronic banking where appropriate
- Calculate and set up monthly Direct Debits for customers
- Oversee Chasing of outstanding debts in accordance with the lease
- Calculate water, gas and electricity charges where necessary
- Pay any HSC or HSCPM accounts within 24 hours or as soon as service charge funds allow
- At the end of a financial year calculate each lessee’s share of a deficit or surplus.
- Oversee contractor invoices are being paid within 28 days or as agreed
- Attend client meetings with Managing Director BM Online as required
- Make up year-end Accounts for non-audited sites and liaise with external accountants where appropriate
- Calculate and raise management fees for all sites
- Calculate and handle all VAT registered sites including BMO
- Produce BvAs in good time for Property Mangers to use in budget preparation
- Produce BMO Management Accounts
- To supervise and oversee the Accounts Assistant. Identify training needs and liaise with Management Director where appropriate
- Put together and deal with Handover packs to new agents and oversee transfers
- Point of contact for new business liaising with old agent, Accountant and Client in obtaining all relevant information to be entered onto the system.
- Calculating voids and dealing with Freeholder and Lessee queries.
- Any other duties as reasonably required.

Hours: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday
