Medical Receptionist/Coder

TEMPORARY MEDICAL ADMINISTRATOR / CLINICAL CODER – FULL OR PART-TIME

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established GP practice for an experienced Medical Administrator/Clinical Coder to join their team on a temporary basis. This role offers flexible hours and an immediate start for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support while undertaking accurate clinical coding to maintain high-quality patient records. This hybrid position is ideal for someone with strong administrative capability and a solid background in GP practice workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Coding: Accurately summarise and code information from patient records and clinical correspondence into EMIS Web or SystmOne.
• Administration: Manage patient registrations, referrals, incoming correspondence, and general administrative duties.
• Documentation: Process notes, read clinical documentation, and ensure data is entered accurately and efficiently.
• Liaison: Communicate professionally with hospitals, community services, and external agencies.
• Workflow Support: Assist in maintaining smooth administrative processes within the practice.
• Patient Interaction: Engage with patients in a professional, empathetic manner when required.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a GP practice is essential.
• Proficient with EMIS Web or SystmOne (S1).
• Strong administrative and data-entry experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and understanding of medical terminology.
• Confident IT skills.
• A basic understanding of anatomy and physiology is beneficial.
