- Description
- Staff partners are working with a leading housing association for a Health and Safety Advisor,the successful candidate will have experience in housing or construction, such as NEBOSH Construction would be beneficial but not essential. This position will be based in the offices in Exeter, you'll work across the Devon region with your time being split between your local office and home with some localised travel.
- Significant experience providing expert occupational health and safety advice within the property or construction industry
- A track record in reviewing and developing health and safety policies, procedures and recommending best practices
- Confidence in classifying incidents and leading incident investigations
- Creative thinking to develop engaging safety training and workshops
- Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders, building positive and trusted relationships
- Comfortable prioritising workloads and working with accuracy and attention to detail
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Build strong professional working relationships with key stakeholders, delivering subject matter
expertise on HSE. Provide competent expert coaching, advice, and guidance, working in
collaboration to drive continuous improvement. - Coach and promote visible safety leadership; lead and implement initiatives to establish a
strong safety mindset. - Promote good environmental awareness and working practices within the organisation
- Review applicable policies, procedures, and other HS&E documentation with key stakeholders, ensuring the documents reflect relevant legislative and organisational requirements, and are included within the Integrated Management System.
- Lead, support, and guide the incident management process, providing technical expertise in reporting and root cause analysis, identifying systemic learnings, and preventative measures for continuous improvements.
- Design and deliver HSE training courses, in collaboration with L&D, that are engaging and effective using a range of facilitation techniques.
- Lead and support the development of hazard identification, risk assessment and controls.
- Ley focal point for all initial HSE management enquiries, taking ownership through to
completion. - Conduct safety visits, providing guidance to front line colleagues, leading by example, and recommending good practice and areas for improvement.
- Liaise on HSE for external stakeholder engagement including evaluations as part of relevant tender processes.
- Provide support and expert advice to internal stakeholders across a variety of occupational Health hazards within the organisation.
