Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two Credit Controllers to join our Credit Control Domestic Accounts Team in our offices based in Hertfordshire. One position can be fully remote with the other position offering a hybrid work pattern (2 days in the office and 3 days working from home). The successful candidate will be able to learn about the wider business and will be required to take responsibility for collecting unpaid / defaulted money from individuals who have failed to process payments on time, and to report accurately on these.

Core Role: Make outbound calls to recover outstanding debt owed by individuals
Deal with incoming telephone and email queries
Take preventative action to avoid further debt/arrears
Monitor customers and build relationships with them
Reduce overall debt levels via effective debt collection
Follow correct procedures and policies in line with debt management
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that debt collection is maximised
Follow correct policies in the escalation through to legal action if required Liaise with other departments to resolve issues that impact customer bills i.e. Data Management & Metering, Finance, Marketing, Customer Services Essential

Skills: A minimum of 5 years’ experience Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels
Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Highly numerate and analytical
Ability to work to deadlines and targets IT literate – Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook Thrives under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
Excellent telephone manner
Ability to multitask
Ability to problem solve
Previous experience using SharePoint, Chaser and Xero would be an advantage but are not essential as training will be provided. Please only apply for this role if you need to give 1 weeks’ notice.
