Staff partners are looking for a Medical HR Advisor for a 3 month Temp role, the successful candidate will support the Trust in providing a comprehensive Medical HR service and be the first point of contact in advising managers and employees on all aspects of Medical HR processes within the NHS, 
  • Effective team member to provide a professional and specialist Medical HR service and support service lines by participating in meetings and provision of training to promote best practice.
  • Ensure sufficient and effective monitoring processes are in place to manage and maintain quality standards and timelines of all Medical HR Functions and that effective communication channels are in place.
  • To advise Clinical Business Unit Managers and the HR Admin Team on pay and conditions of service in line with national terms and conditions of all medical and dental staff and local terms and conditions of service as appropriate, ensuring that all procedures are carried out efficiently and to agreed timescales.
  • Work in partnership with the Medical Director’s Office and Health Education England to manage rotations for Junior Doctors in training in a smooth and professional manner
  • To be responsible for the operational delivery of a range of Medical HR Services
  • Support the business objectives of the organisation about Medical HR related issues.
  • Advise and/or influence on a wide range of business issues on a strategic and operational level.
  • To be responsible for ensuring that each Medical Rotation is managed efficiently and effectively, liaising with the HEE deanery to resolve queries on rotation information provided and ensuring identification of and adverse service delivery.
  • Provide expert support and guidance to Clinical Business Units in relations to junior doctor rotas and exception reporting using the eRota (Allocate) system as appropriate.
  • To monitor the new Junior Doctor Contract through the exception reporting process and where issues are highlighted work closely with the service lines to ensure remedial action is taken in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the reporting on junior doctors’ hours of work, keeping up to date with all medical and dental hours of work rules and regulations.
  • To make amendments to rotas as and when required by the Clinical Business Units.
  • Oversee and supervise the issuing and renewal of honorary contracts, ensuring that all required pre-employment checks and processes have taken place including a mechanism for monitoring those contracts that have been issued or near to expiry.
  • To advise the HR Admin team on all medical staffing variation to contracts.
  • Lead as Trust’s expert in Medical Staffing, supporting medical leadership, CBU managers and human resources colleagues.
  • Responsible for the development of Trust implementation of new national initiatives in relation to medical staff working closing with the Contracts Manager in taking a long-term view and ensuring the Trust has appropriate systems and procedures in place to ensure safe and effective management of the medical workforce
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Medical Director and Contracts Manager on the management and implementation of the Consultant Clinical Excellence Awards process.
  • To work in partnership with Contracts Manager to ensure that Trust policies, procedures and processes are fit for purpose for Medical and Dental staff.
  • To work closing with the commercial team in the management of Trust medical sub-contracts, ensuring that the necessary medical assurances and compliance are in place.
  • To provide expert advice and technical guidance in the recruitment of consultants and other medical staff, ensuring that these are administered efficiently.
  • To provide support HR support to the responsible officer advisory group.
  • CIPD Qualified
  • Knowledge of Junior and Senior Doctor recruitment processes
  • Medical staffing terms and conditions e.g. contracts, pay structure
  • Good understanding of Medical HR policies and procedure
  • Office systems and practices 
  • Written Communication – excellent written skills with the ability to write clear, concise reports and policies,
