- Description
- We are currently working with a local GP surgery looking to permanently recruit a Reception Manager to join their team. As the Reception Manager the successful applicant will find themselves responsible for the management of all reception staff and the reception function and providing administrative support to the Practice Manager.
Key responsibilities:- Managing staff rotas – including availability, allocation, and reacting and responding to changes including leave requests and sickness.
- Attend practice meetings and take minutes.
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure they are completed.
- Respond to complaints following the practice complaints procedure.
- Keep the computerised appointment system up to date.
- Co-ordinate staff for and help organise flu clinics.
- Provide new staff with induction training.
- Carryout ongoing reviews of current staff.
- Ensure practice polices are followed.
- Maintain accurate records on things such as appointments, patient registration, repeat prescriptions and more.
- Liaise with members of the primary care team and external agencies as needed.
- Oversee annual mandatory training through Blue Stream Academy
- Assist in the Annual Appraisal process
- Train staff on how to use IT systems.
- Oversee the handling of patient records including receiving, recording, summarising, and returning.
- Make sure fire and health and safety protocols are understood and implemented.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
Key requirements:- At least 2 years’ management/supervisor experience within healthcare.
- Previous experience with the EMIS system.
- Possess key management skills including organising, prioritisation, leadership and attention to detain.
